What we do
Volunteering
Organised events
We work closely with the school to determine how best we can carry out our objectives that are two-fold: to raise money to improve the educational opportunities available to the children at Millfields Community School; and to foster a strong sense of inclusivity and community among the children, parents and staff. We raise much of our funds through large school events like the Christmas Fair, Jumble Trail and Discos.

Accomplishments 2024
What we've achieved together
From pencils and books to zoo trips and playgrounds - The PSA has supported the school for over a decade, and in that time, we are proud to have achieved numerous goals that have benefited and enriched the needs of so many children, staff and families across the school community.
Through your generous donations and our various fundraising events, this year we’ve been able to fund projects like the phase 1 of the playground makeover while supporting a variety of school activities like trips, workshops, therapy resources, and materials that enrich our children’s education - especially as school budgets face severe cuts.

Fundraising for 2025/2026
PSA goals this year
As all Hackney Schools, including Millfields, face massive budget cuts we want to continue raising funds to ensure all our children have the proper books and tools for learning in 2025 and beyond. Here's a round up of where our funds have been spent in recent months: Design and Technology: The PSA buys all of the DT materials for the school. It’s an eclectic shopping list: Sewing needles, embroidery thread, chenille stems, rainbow coloured card, bamboo sticks, lollipop sticks, masking tape, toothpicks, spaghetti, felt, cotton and many glue sticks. The children from nursery to yr6 love their Design Technology. It’s great we’re able to make it happen. TasteEd sessions buying the serve ware, a great initiative that involves every class in the school. Flamenco! Our KS2 pupils were able to participate in a PSA funded dance workshop during Spanish week. Block Printing again all years in the school were given access to paints, marbling ink and more cards. Our lucky year 5 students had their creativity unlocked during a PSA funded drama and writing workshop We have happily been able to support our incredible SENCO team. Most recently purchasing 10 sensory swivel chairs for use throughout the school. These are typical of some of the regular spends the PSA makes. Beyond this we are working on a big project... the next and hopefully final phase of the playground development! We believe that together we can make that happen. You’ll be hearing more about this early in 2026. When we’ll also be holding discos for our older children, regular tuck shops plus much more!
